Reading a packet page

What a supplier's packet page shows, and where its figures come from.

Every packet on Plantly has its own page, reached from the variety. It shows what that supplier says about that one packet.

What is on it

  • The packet. A photo of the front, and the back and others when we have them. Select the photo to see it full size.
  • Sold as, pack and price. Seeds, sets, bulbs and so on, how many or how much is in the pack, and the price when we last checked.
  • Measurements. How deep to sow, how far apart, and how tall and wide it grows, when the supplier gives them. A single figure is exact; "45 to 60cm" is a range; "up to" and "from" are the most and the least.
  • Sowing times. When to sow, plant out and harvest, outdoors or indoors and under glass, as the supplier gives them.

Why suppliers differ

Two suppliers can give different times or spacing for the same variety. Plantly shows each one as they give it, so you can see the difference rather than an average.

Adding it to your garden

Choose Add to garden to grow that packet. Your garden's timeline then uses that supplier's times.
